SOLD II Plug 'n Go is available for both msWindows and Linux. You are probably familiar with msWindows programs, and we are happy to supply you with SOLD II for windows. Don't misunderstand us. Our clients love our SOLD II programs for msWindows too, but you may want to also consider an even better option.

Allow us to clarify. No it's not Apple you are seeing. It's our own linux distribution tailored to the needs of auction companies. Yes, it looks and performs a lot like an Apple because Apple OS X is also a linux derivative. They are kissing cousins.

There are a lot of advantages to the Linux version of SOLD II® Plug 'N Go such as:

Users have often confused our linux desktop with that of Apple Mac's they have used, and you won't notice much of a difference between this linux interface and what you are used to in Windows either, other than the easy multi-windowing and multi-user reliability that Windows simply doesn't have. Linux can also support WiLan and networking as well as the reliable serial connectivity our linux clients are accustomed to. Actually you can combine all of these into your system if you want.

In many ways, the linux option is superior to the Windows option even as compared to our own SOLD II® for windows due to some inherent limitations in Windows. Why then do many hesitate on this option?

Our research shows that there is a fear of loading linux. "Plug 'n Go" SOLD II® solves that dilemma. Use any of your current computers, and boot directly to the pre-loaded memory stick or hard drive we will send you. You will be running SOLD II® in linux in no time. Nothing to install. and think of the portability. Want to run with a different computer? No problem. Simply take your memory stick or drive, plug it into the other computer and boot. If you use one computer at home, another in the office, and a notebook for field auctions, what could be easier. Or perhaps you buy a new computer and want to use it for SOLD II? Move your SOLD II® from one system to another by simply moving your SOLD II® drive from computer to computer.

Updates: Not a problem! Simply swap our your disk and we'll send you a new one complete with your data as well as the updates. Or if you prefer, you can hang on to your older drive for a modest buy out, and we'll send you the new version separately. Either way, no muss or fuss on your end.

Security BONUS: You are protected from outside viruses and file corruptions because your linux and SOLDII is completely isolated from whatever is on your hard drive. You are also protected in the other direction; when you run “Plug 'n Go SOLD II” you leave no footprint or trace of your data on the computer itself. Many of our clients have SOLD II loaded to a computer (or to another Plug 'N Go drive) and backup all of their auction data to SOLD II Plug 'N Go. This is more than a data backup, however. If you need to run on another computer, use your Plug 'N Go backup drive and your are ready to run. Everything is already there and loaded.

*You may have to do a ONE TIME SETUP of your computer that should only take a minute.

  • You may have to edit your computer's setup files (cmos) so that it will boot to the USB drive.

  • Not all computers (especially older ones) have the capability to boot directly to the usb drive. Just in case, we also include a CDR which will redirect the boot to the usb drive. In some cases, you may have to edit your computer's setup files (cmos) so that it will boot to a cdrom.

And you can use Plug 'n Go" SOLD II® on just about any recent PC.
